The Best Fashion Trends to Bring Vintage Clothing Back to Life

What was once considered an outdated style now seems fresh and new, thanks to some of the recent fashion trends that have been emerging over the past few years. This means that it’s becoming easier than ever to wear vintage clothing without looking too old fashioned or out-of-touch with the latest fashions. If you’re not sure how to bring your old favorites back to life, follow these tips for the best fashion trends to bring vintage clothing back to life.

1. Pick colors you love

As a fashion designer, I'm always on the hunt for colors that are both classic and trendy. One of my favorite things about spring is the burst of colors that come out after winter's browns, grays, and whites. From bright yellows and oranges to mint greens and light blues, there's no shortage of colors out there. If you're looking for trends to bring back into your wardrobe, then start with these!

2. Get the fit right

A clothing trend that is becoming popular again is the vintage look. To achieve this style, it is important that you make sure the clothes you are buying fit you well. If they don't, then you will end up looking like an awkward mess which defeats the purpose of trying to channel your inner fashion icon! Make sure that the clothes you buy fit in all of the right places, and get them tailored if needed. Remember that good things come to those who wait (and spend a little extra money)!

3. Don’t be afraid to mix patterns

A clothing trend that has been making waves in the fashion industry is mixing patterns. This fashion trend is a great way to add personality and creativity into your wardrobe with barely any effort at all.

There are many different combinations that you can create such as polka dots and stripes, florals and checks, or striped dresses with floral blouses. The best part about this clothing trend is that it can be done for any season of the year! Mixing up your outfit on an everyday basis will keep things interesting and make sure you don’t end up wearing the same thing day after day.

#4 Wear only black: One of the most important current trends is wearing only black. Not only will this give off a strong, powerful look but it also helps maintain individuality while still being fashionable in our colorless world! Black goes well with just about everything so there’s no need to worry about coordinating pieces-you already have everything you need right here.

4. Look for details you like

Now that you have a clear idea of what you like, it's time to focus on the details. Think about what you want your look to say about you. What is your personal style? Do you want a modern and clean cut look, or do you prefer something more bohemian and wild? For example, in order for vintage clothing trends to work for your body type, be sure it falls at the right length for your height and that the fabric is not too heavy. So if you're 5'2, ensure that the garment hangs no longer than mid-thigh, and if you're larger than size 18W, be careful with how much volume is added through ruffles, layers or large prints as this can overwhelm a smaller frame.

5. Start with a garment that fits well

1. Start with a garment that fits well. The best way to do this is by following the mantra, less is more. Choose one simple piece of clothing and try it on with different pieces you already own. This way, you'll be able to see what styles are most flattering on your body shape and also figure out how much storage space you'll need for this new purchase. You should also know if you prefer hanging clothes or storing them in drawers or closets. If you don't have enough room in either of these areas, then choose something that's versatile like a skirt or top instead.

#6: Try before you buy! If possible, always try things on before buying them! It's tempting to want every trend as soon as it comes out but trust me when I say there will be plenty of time for shopping after Christmas and New Year's Day.

6. Look at other women on Instagram and Pinterest

If you are in the mood for a new style, look at other women on Instagram and Pinterest. These social media platforms are full of people who love fashion and can inspire your next outfit. For example, if you have dark hair, try styling your hair with blonde highlights.

A few more ways to bring vintage clothing back to life is by sewing on patches or embellishments, cutting it off into short shorts or long skirts, wearing it with sneakers or tucking it into some flats! You may also want to start looking around for great deals because most thrift stores have clothing that could be refashioned into something fabulous!

7. Be open about your style preferences

It can be difficult to find clothes that fit your style, so we've narrowed down the best fashion trends for you. Fashion is all about experimenting and trying new things, but it's not a bad idea to have a baseline of what you like so that you're not wasting time looking for something that doesn't suit you. What are your favorite colors? Are you drawn towards more muted tones or brighter colors? Do you like tight-fitting clothing or looser fits? Would you prefer an off-the-shoulder shirt or a fitted tank top? Be open with your preferences and start building up your own personal style.

8. For success stories follow designers in your budget

Sometimes it's fun to daydream about owning a $4,000 dress or a $1,500 pair of shoes. But what if you could afford a vintage item that was just as beautiful? You can with these quick tips:

-Shop in the right place. The Upper East Side is home to some of the most elite vintage boutiques in New York City. You can find anything from couture dresses for under $300 to an iconic Chanel suit for less than $1,000. -Be careful who you buy from. When buying vintage clothes online, check out the seller’s feedback and look for photos of other items they’ve sold. If there are no photos or feedback, walk away!

-Go local! Check your city's online forums to see where people sell their own clothing.

9. Avoid visible logos!

8. Avoid visible logos! If you're not a fan of wearing your favorite brand's logo, then keep it hidden. This is a trend that has been trending for years and it isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Try out this look by pairing a logo-less t-shirt with some distressed jeans and your favorite pair of sneakers! #10. Pick a few patterns:

Patterns are the best way to make an outfit feel fresh and interesting without having to spend money on new clothes Picking one or two bold patterns will do the trick!

Choose one item each season and make it yours by pairing it with other items in your closet

This season is all about the statement sleeves. The fashion world has been waiting for this trend to come back into style, and now it is finally happening. This trend can be sported by anyone with any body shape, and it can be worn in both a casual or dressy way. Another trendy piece of clothing this season are plaid skirts. These are perfect for the girl who likes to mix her prints up and wear different patterns together. They are also great if you like to have fun with your wardrobe and show off your individuality! Speaking of individuality, another trend that was seen on runways were lace pieces on clothes. There was lace trimming around hems, bodices, even entire dresses! Lace is always feminine and delicate looking which makes it perfect for adding femininity to an outfit.

Finally, we will never forget one of the most timeless trends: denim! Denim seems like it never goes out of style because there is always a variation on the denim pant or jean jacket every season. One thing that might change how often you wear denim though? It may depend on where you live as well as what time of year it is when deciding what kind of jeans to buy.
